LDA Kharkiv Region
The Local Democracy Agency Kharkiv was officially launched in 2024 to foster democratic recovery and participatory governance in a region deeply impacted by war. As a registered Ukrainian NGO, LDA Kharkiv operates from the city of Kharkiv, building partnerships across Europe to support community resilience, youth leadership, and transparent local governance.
Objectives and Areas of Work
The Agency places a particular focus on co-creating recovery strategies with citizens and building trust between communities and institutions.
LDA Kharkiv promotes democratic transformation through inclusive, community-led initiatives and multilevel cooperation. Its key objectives include:
Strengthening civic engagement and participatory democracy in eastern Ukraine.
Supporting youth leadership, digital innovation, and open local governance.
Enhancing social services for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable communities.
Advancing decentralization, transparency, and Ukraine’s path toward European integration.
